New Haven Branchline to the Cape
1965 was the last year New Haven offered service from New York to the Cape via the train known as the Cape Codder. At Buzzards Bay, the train split into a section for Hyannis and another section for Woods Hole. John photographs both sections of the train at the yard in Hyannis and depot at Woods Hole. As a bonus, John rides the ferry from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven and snaps off a few great maritime scenes, inlcuding a boat seen in the movie Jaws later on. Oh, and check out the photo of the world famous submersible Alvin. It is just sitting there, at Woods Hole. Need to find an H-bomb on the ocean floor?
