The classic DL&W Pagoda-style depot stands along the double-tracked route of the Phoebe Snow. The mail stand is seen on the left. This depot, badly deteriorated by 1970, was purchased, disassembled, then moved and reassembled as a private residence in upstate N.Y. With some modifications, it still exists today. At one time, DLW had over 80 of this style structure, less than 10 exist today.

I know the EL management had their reasons, but it is photos like this that make me wonder if they really made the right choice severing the ex-DL&W route with its broad curves and long tangents through the Cohocton valley in favor of the Erie from Corning to Buffalo in the Canisteo valley.
